Hey everyone,
I know you guys haven’t heard from me in a long time, and I’m sorry for that. Life goes how it goes, and the past few months have been particularly difficult for me. I wish I could say that things are going to go back to normal soon, but the truth is that they’re not, and I can’t keep you all hanging in suspense like this, waiting for updates that just aren’t going to come.

I haven’t written anything in months. It’s just been a hectic semester and I’ve lost my muse for C&C. And as long as I’m committed to C&C, I don’t feel like I can work on other projects. But I want to get back into writing again, and that means working on things that I feel excited about.

So I’ve decided I’m officially done working on C&C. Maybe one day in the future I’ll feel inspired to work on it again, but that’s not a promise, just a hope. I have more stories in me that I want to tell, stories that I’m excited about. So although ending C&C is difficult for me to do, and I’m sad to say goodbye to it, I’m looking at this as an opportunity.

Finally, I want to thank you all for your patience and support. C&C probably would have never gotten to where it did without the amazing feedback and encouragement I got from all of you. You guys have been great, really.

As of right now, Collision and Consequence is officially on hiatus. I really really really really don’t want to have to say that, but I just have not had the time to do ANY writing lately. My class schedule is insane, and I just DON’T have the time that getting more chapters done would require.

On top of that, I want to get the next 3 or so chapters written before I post, for various reasons. So even if I promised new stuff as soon as possible, it wouldn’t come very quickly.

You all have been great. Super patient, super supportive. I know how much it sucks when authors/webcomic artists do this.

I SWEAR that I am not abandoning C&C. Even if I don’t have ANY time for the rest of the semester, I’ll get some updates out over winter break.

In the meantime, you might see a one-shot or two if I need a break from programming. If things start looking better, I’ll be sure to let you all know.

Thank you to everyone who answered my opinion poll that I put out yesterday, I always enjoy the feedback you guys give me :)

So it looks like what you all really want to see is another chapter for C&C! I will do my best to buckle down and work on that this weekend. Hopefully I’ll have enough time to do a prompt or two (maybe even three, but that’s really pushing it) for the upcoming Korrasami week as well.

I’ll keep you all posted!

I want to do at least one or two prompts, but I would like to do more! But if I do more, it’ll definitely delay chapter 9 by another week. So I put it to you guys… what would you like to see?

Good question! And I have a 3 part answer:

1) I just moved back to school. Packing, travel time, unpacking, seeing friends, arranging my new room, getting ready for classes… it’s been a busy time for me. But things should settle down soon enough.

2) I have a lot of friends with birthdays in late August. I know that this doesn’t seem like it should be a big deal, but a lot of those friends turned 21, which meant that I was going out to a lot of bars and spending a lot of time away from my computer. Also I don’t write very well when I’m drunk. It’s just a fact.

3) Guild Wars 2 came out a week ago. I know, I know. This is probably the worst excuse of all, but I can’t help it - I’m a huge gamer. Between everything else going on, GW2 has been sucking up the rest of my free time. Once again, this is something that should settle down soon, but right now it’s all shiny and new, and my friends and I have been waiting for it to come out for a long time.

(As a side note, if anyone else plays and is on Sorrow’s Furnace, feel free to look me up! My name is midgroundVIII.6297)

So there you have it, my list of excuses very legitimate reasons for not posting a new chapter yet.
